On Monday, October 6th, 2025, by the grace of God and the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Patras, the Blessing of the Waters and the opening of the Monthly Parish Gatherings took place at the Old Holy Church of St. Andrew the Apostle, the Patron Saint of Patras.
The Blessing and the first talk were conducted by the Very Reverend Archimandrite Fr. Artemios Argyropoulos, Chancellor of the Holy Metropolis of Patras and Head Priest of the Church, who presented the theme:
“The Virtue of Self-Knowledge.”
Fr. Artemios, after expressing his gratitude to His Eminence Metropolitan Chrysostomos for his blessing and trust, spoke about the importance of these gatherings as part of the parish’s catechetical and spiritual life.
He analyzed the meaning of self-knowledge, emphasizing that every Christian should continually examine themselves — recognizing their faults, passions, and weaknesses — so that, through repentance, they may walk safely on the path of salvation.
By the grace of God, the Monthly Gatherings will continue throughout the year, offering spiritual guidance, encouragement, and opportunities for fellowship in Christ.
